INSPIRING AND EQUIPPING COLLEGE STUDENTS IN A VIRTUAL YEAR Nike Project Move is a student-led initiative that inspires a diversity of movement across college campuses. With 2020's need for online events and social distancing, Nike was seeking an experienced partner to design and implement an online curriculum and workshop series. This program engaged students at The Ohio State University and the University of Texas Austin in a 9-month journey through the 2020 school year: educating, equipping, and inspiring them to bring their movement-focused projects to life on campus. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT AND YOUTH ENGAGEMENT CURRICULUM As the lead agency for program oversight and youth development over the course of the 9-month program, CustomED delivered a structure and vision for Nike Project Move. In addition to managing weekly curriculum and supporting the implementation of student projects entirely online, CustomED designed and facilitated highly engaging multi-day online workshops to bring together students, Nike employees, and university partners. THE IMPACT By the end of the program year, the Nike Project Move cohort members had implemented projects that impacted almost 300 of their peers. Cohort members reported that the Nike Project Move program had helped them develop important skills including teamwork, collaboration, leadership, and innovative thinking. They also felt empowered by a brand encouraging them to use their voices and bring their ideas to life, and they felt connected and engaged by the workshops and the overall experience.
